ALOHA BOAT CHARTERS Imagine standing on the end of the Pier in Oceanside, watching the sea birds, dolphins and seals on
the ocean during a sunset or sunny afternoon. A boat comes slowly from the North. The boat is adorned with Funeral
wreaths and flying a black Funeral flag. As it approaches the Pier, a stream of fresh flowers are laid on the Ocean
and the Cremains of your loved one are gently placed into the flowers. You watch the Burial at Sea service from
the end of the Pier with your Family and Friends and photograph the service as you say good-bye to your loved one. A
prayer of your choice is said at your request. After the service the boat goes slowly out to sea from the Pier.
After the service you can visit the Ruby's restaurant, at the end of the
Pier, and reminisce over a nice lunch or dinner. The children can entertain themselves in a child friendly atmosphere.
During January through March, you may get a glimpse of the whales as they migrate South for the winter.
Special memorial visits can be made to the Pier in remembrance of your loved one any time of the year.
The Pier is the longest wooden Pier on the West Coast at 1,954 feet long.
On a clear day, one can see La Jolla coastline, San Clemente and Catalina Islands.
Burial at Sea service aboard a boat can be very difficult for Family and Friends. Many have
not been on a boat in the Ocean. The Elderly and the young members who attend may not be seaworthy or able to board
a boat. A Burial service is an emotional time in ones life and to add an unfamiliar Ocean journey to the stress level
can be very disturbing to those who attend. Due to the risks involved, we do not take passengers on our boat.
If there is a need for medical assistance, Lifeguards are at the Pier. It is recommended that a wheelchair be used for
those who may be physically limited. We have a wheelchair to loan.
Weather conditions dictate the timing of a Service at Sea. Should fowl weather or sea conditions exist the
Harbor Patrol can restrict boating activity, which can include our service and cause service to be canceled. We will
make every effort to notify in advance if cancellation must be done. The Captain will make final decision to terminate service
as early as possible. We reserve the right to cancel without notice due to bad weather or conditions on the ocean if necessary.
California is the only State that allows a service conducted 500 yards minimum
from the Ocean shore. All other States require three miles out to Sea for scattering of Cremains. Our charge
for attended Service at the Pier or from the Shore is $300 . We perform an unattended service at a cost of $150
An unattended service is conducted out of the Oceanside Harbor, within two weeks of receiving the Ashes. Most other scattering
service providers will want to take you on their boats out to sea and charge an hourly minimum. You will probably be
expected to scatter the ashes once you arrive at an offshore location. Many Captains of boats do not have State
Burial Licenses nor do they file documents or order permits for your service and you will have to do the legal issues involved.
We manage all legal issues such as permits. We scatter the ashes as a formal Funeral service in full view of family
and friends who observe from the end of the Pier and there is no long tedious trip out to sea. We are a State licensed
service provider.
The average cost for Scattering Ashes
at Sea is between $500.00 and $1,500.00 by other companies. We provide a Service everyone can afford with tremendous
respect and reverence. Our Company is a locally owned small business and has been in operation for five years.
Our boat is a 2002, 26' Seaswirl power boat. We pride ourselves in providing a very personal service. We are a
State Licensed Cremated Remains Disposer (CRD#709). Contact our office at 760-754-0012 or by email at alohaboatcharters@cox.net to make an appointment or ask questions.
